In recent month's, CYM has been taking stock of it's purpose, vision and passion for the young people of Ipswich and surrounding area. We have met together as a staff team with the Trustees for a strategic review of all the work and projects that CYM is involved in and it is with excitement that we bring to you our renewed passion and commitment to reach out to the margins; the unchurched and to raise up people for the Kingdom of God through our schools work, events and African Adventure.
We are recommitting to focus our work with people who don't yet know God, whilst building and encouraging those that do.
But as we do this, we are very aware that we must revitalise and extend our links with local churches and organisations so as to best sustain, hand on and reach out with new projects.
CYM remains 100% committed to working in schools and with Churches in the locality to “Give young people something to believe in”. The appointment of a successor to Dave is a very important time for us, and as Trustees we would like to ask you to pray for:
The staff of CYM - Ian, Emily, Ben, Chris and Sarah together with Amy and our 4 GAP year students - as they continue to grow the excellent work over the coming months
Bob Molton as he joins CYM Wednesday 8th September.
The Trustees
The young people whom we serve and seek to witness to, encourage and disciple.
With best regards
In Christ
Simon Barrington
Chairman of Trustees.
CYM’s African Adventure Needs Cooks
Over the past 5 years CYM has been delivering African Adventure at Sizewell Hall to local schools; building significant relationships and sharing a little about what it means to be a Christian. As more schools come along and get involved we continue to need people to help us ensure we can deliver the programme. We have volunteers helping to deliver sessions, fix and make things around the village and cooking and preparing meals. As this ministry grows from strength to strength we find ourselves in need particularly of more cooks.
Menus and food orders are prepared in advance by CYM and you will be provided with all the cooking instructions, menus and recipes to make the task as straight forward as possible. African Adventure for 2009 runs from March to October during the school term with each school visiting for between 2 and 5 days. Our aim is to ensure children are well fed with a healthy mixture of quality meals.
If you would be interested in serving, supporting and using your skills to help CYM give young people something to believe in then we would love to hear from you.
